The effects of local anesthestic agent (Marcaine, LAC-43) on the peripheral blood finding and liver function

Abstract
To investigate the effects of Marcaine (LAC-43, l-n-butyl-DL-piperidine2-carboxylic acid-2, 6-dimethylanilide hydrochloride) on the liver function and peripheral blood finding, an experimental study was performed in the rabbit.
The results were as follows;
1) The values of complete blood cell count including hematocrit and differential count were within normal range except decrease of hemoglobine.
2) The decrease of hemoglobine was suggested the formation of methemoglobinemia due to metabolism of marcaine in the body.
3) The liver function tests-Thymol urbidity, SGOT, SGPT, -were within normal range.
